Once again a Micromax smartphone is up against a rival. This time the rivalry is between Canvas Magnus, the low-cost version of Canvas Turbo, and newly released Xolo Q2000 which is basically a phablet. The comparison is an important one as both the devices are available almost at the same price. Nowadays 5.5 inch screen doesn’t sound big. Till last year 5 inch was considered to be very big. In this year we have reached 6.44 inch display size. So it doesn’t play any major role here as per as portability is concerned.
Hardware plays an important role when two devices fit your budget and there is not too much difference in brand value. Of course, Micromax is more reliable but Xolo is also doing well for a while. Anyway, let’s check out the differences.
Micromax Canvas Magnus packs MediaTek MT6589T Turbo (1.5 GHz quad core Cortex A7 CPU+ 357 MHz PowerVR SGX544MP GPU) SoC whereas Xolo Q2000 runs the original MediaTek MT6589 (1.2 GHz quad core Cortex A7 CPU+ 286 MHz PowerVR SGX544MP GPU). Both CPU and GPU clocked high in MTK Turbo which simply ensures better performance. 1 GB RAM is there in both the handsets. You can assume Canvas Magnus to perform better in real life due to more advanced hardware.
Micromax Canvas Magnus sports a 5″ IPS LCD screen with HD 720p resolution resulting 294 ppi. In contrast to that Xolo Q2000 comes with 5.5″ IPS LCD screen with 720p HD resolution at 267 ppi. It doesn’t look there is much difference in display quality but bigger screen always gives more entertainment. Therefore, Q2000 takes a lead in this module.
In camera front Xolo Q2000 beats Micromax Canvas Magnus. It boasts 13 MP rear camera with BSI 2 sensor. BSI sensor is useful for low-light capturing. In contrast to that Canvas Magnus sports a 12 MP rear camera without BSI sensor. LED flash is there in both the handsets. 2 MP front camera is present in both the handsets. However, Q2000 is better as a camera phone.
Unlike Canvas Turbo, Magnus comes with plastic body. Xolo Q2000 also has nothing worth mentioning in this segment. Decent built quality using plastic like material is common these days.
Canvas Magnus vs Xolo Q2000
- Powerful hardware, better in terms of multitasking
- Better device for gamers
- Display quality is slightly better because of higher ppi
- More comfortable to hold at one hand
Xolo Q2000 over Canvas Magnus
- Better camera, 13 MP rear camera with BSI 2 sensor
- Better battery life
- 8 GB internal storage over 4 GB
